Tom Beresford
Senior Associate
Tom is a public and civic sector innovation specialist, with over 10 years experience working in partnership with national and local government bodies, public services, charities and civic organisations.
He is a Senior Associate at ThirdStory, working primarily on our international portfolio. Over the past few years, Tom has supported Bermuda's Education Reform efforts to collaboratively design a new and improved education system fit for the 21st century. He brings expertise in systems transformation, human-centred innovation and strategic design.
In the past, Tom has been an Associate for both Innovation Unit and the RSA in the UK, working on preventative mental health, family and community services, and education and learning (eco)systems. He is also an Associate at Dark Matter Labs, working with the EU's Cities Mission to enable climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030 through policy and governance innovation.
Tom is passionate about navigating big societal transitions through deeper democracy, interdisciplinary working and the potential of culturally-responsive, self-determining people and places. He holds a MA in International Development, with a specialism in politics and governance, and a BA(Hons) in Economics and Politics.
