Kate is an independent consultant, board member and blogger who is passionate about contributing to an equitable world where we care about people and planet.  

Kate is an associate and co-facilitator for Tūmanako Consultants, helping organisations to better support Māori aspirations, and is a consultant to funders wanting to support our communities more effectively.  Kate is also the chair of Te Muka Rau Charitable Trust, a small philanthropic organisation set up by Kate and her husband Dave, and is a board member for the rangatahi (Māori youth) leadership programme Tuia. 

Kate’s previous roles include Executive Director of the Todd Foundation, Chair of Philanthropy NZ, and co-founder and managing director of one of Aotearoa NZ’s first web development companies.  Career highlights include winning the ASB Business Woman of the Year award and receiving the NZ Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to business and the community.   

Kate lives in Aotearoa NZ in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, where she and Dave have three sons, a dog, a cat and three chickens.
